HERE WAS THE QUESTION:

Broker server:
WMQI 2.1, CSD06
Solaris 8
Oracle 8 client (using WMQI-supplied 'merant' driver)

Broker database machine (broker store):
Solaris 9
Oracle 9.2

Can I upgrade my Oracle client on the broker server to Oracle 9? Where do I find the proper 'merant' driver? I've poked around here as well as on the IBM site and didn't see anything. Perhaps someone has a URL for an IBM page that tells about the client driver?

I hope this is the proper wording for my question, being that I am not a DBA.

I opened a ticket with IBM because I couldn't find the answer anywhere. The URL for questions like this is:

Yes, you can use the Oracle 9 client with WMQI2.1 on the broker server. The 'merant' driver installs with WMQI CSD06. You have to change the driver reference in the .odbc.ini file to UKor818.so. You must bring down the brokers when you make the switch. (DBAs have to install files, change $ORAHOME, etc. also.)
