Whenever I issue an mqsichangetrace or mqsireporttrace command, a file gets generated with a name in the following format:
BrokerName.mqsichangetrace.trace.bin.x
BrokerName.mqsireporttrace.trace.bin.x
With the x starting at 0 and incrementing by 1 every time I run the command. What is the purpose of these files and why do the get generated? That directory gets very cluttered over a period of time with these files and it gets annoying to have to manually delete them. _________________ IBM Certified Specialist: MQSeries

I think those are the files that hold the trace information. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

That makes sense, at least for a change trace. If thats the case, what info needs to be held on a report trace? _________________ IBM Certified Specialist: MQSeries

I am aware of the -r flag and use it every time I start a new trace, but that only pertains to mqsichangetrace and only clears the files generated that contain the actual trace information. The files I am asking about above do not get affected. -r isnt even a valid flag for mqsireporttrace. _________________ IBM Certified Specialist: MQSeries
