Have you double checked the network connectivity between both hosts? i.e. is the IPT listening on the right port? Is it it mapping to the correct port for the other side of the channel etc.

Can you give a little more information? Are you trying to use the MQIPT to communicate between and MQ client and the qmgr? Or, are you trying to use the MQIPT to talk between a pair of channels (sender/receiver)? Are you only using one MQIPT or do you have two? If you could post a simple diagram of your scenario and include your mqipt.conf file, I can look it over and see if I spot anything funny.
Thanks for your interest but I've got it working now.
First I got rid of the SSL entries from the mqipt.config.
The link worked.
Then I put the SSL entries back and got a clear SSL error.
With help from others I eventually got the SSL entries sorted out and now
we are cooking!
