We are currently seeking an MQ Series Administrator for a contract to hire opportunity with a large health insurance provider located in Columbia, MD.

Will provide MQSeries Administration support for client projects and applications. Define MQ objects for development, test and production environments on Z/OS and UNIX servers. Assist application developers with MQSeries related support questions. Problem resolution and oncall support for MQSeries components â€“ will require weekend and off hours support. Administer and coordinate testing and environment setup.
Assist with the development of required architecture, standards and procedures for ongoing support activities and for new project development. Implement and maintain MQSeries system, application and performance monitoring components (using contact admin product).
Software support for UNIX MQSeries installations.

This position requires very strong UNIX skills and experience with MQSeries installation and architecture on UNIX and Z/OS servers (including MQ clusters.) Experience with JMS and WebSphere is preferred.
