Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has any suggesstions for a testing tool?
We would like to provide a GUI screen to facilitate testing of various outcomes for each of our flows.

Any help/hints greatly appreciated!

I think he means a plugin for the broker and not the base WMQ product since the first append mentioned flows.

robertr,

If, as bower5932 surmised, you're looking to test your message flows, and you're using WBIMB, then the Toolkit has an embedded feature that may prove useful to you.

Click here for details on "putting a message onto a queue".

Personally, I prefer the RFHUTIL/C utility, as recommended by zpat

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the replies thus far. I think i may have been a bit hazy about what I require.
The test tool I had in mind could put a test message to a queue, test if the actual output is equal to expected output and record the result.
It could automate the testing process; run a number of tests in parallel and record throughput.

Is there such a tool available?

I am not aware of a single testing tool that will satisfy your need. There are couple of SupportPacs out there that will help you in testing message flows. Also, see how you can fit automated testing tools, like LoadRunner, with some customization.

I know the MQExerciser. This is a GREAT tool , which also integrates trace of WMQI. It's written by Dean Keister.

One of the great things is that you can have keep multiple queues open and be connected to 4 queuemanagers on the same time.

Just my $0.02

Hi,

Well, since a commercial software package was mentioned, I would also like to point out that not only does MQ Visual Edit have 3 built-in stress testing tools, it can open an unlimited number of queues from ANY number of queue managers.

For more information or to download a 30-day trial of MQ Visual Edit go to:

Check out www.solsticesoftware.com they have a tool that allows you to test across MQ and other protocols. Features include:

Record & Replay service invocations, message and payloads.
Compare results to uncover field level discrepancies.
Manage & replicate messages in a friendly, familiar UI.
Simulate unavailable systems that inevitably delay integration testing.
Validate complex file and database interaction against templates.
