Best location for swtich files

Has anyone established a standard Unix location for XA switch files? I have two basic rules 1) User mqm must have update authority. 2) The files must be in a shared area for HA (failover).

We have cases where we have compiled our own and others that were received through PTFs from other apps (i.e. MQSI). They can go anywhere, but I'd like to put them somewhere logical. Just looking for feedback. Thanks in advance.
