I have a config manager managing two WBI-MB V5 brokers (both are test brokers and have eg's and flows deployed). I need to manage these two brokers from seperate configmgrs. I have created the new config manager on a different windows 2000 server. I am a bit uneasy about the next stage. Has anyone tried this before? I would appreciate any guidance.

is there a reason why you want to access your broker from 2 different configuration managers?

if its from a developer's perspective, all they need is add the domain in their tookit and they can do deploy, stop, remove flows and message sets.

You can't manage ONE broker from TWO configuration managers.

You can't MOVE a broker from one configuration manager to another. You have to delete it and recreate it, and then register it with the new one.

Please CAREFULLY read the instructions for deleting a broker - you have to delete it from the topology FIRST, and then run mqsideletebroker. If you do it the other way around, you're hosed.

You likely don't need two config managers, anyway. In version 5, you can completely scope users using ACLs to determine what they can touch and what they can't.

Jeff
Can you please elborate the above statement. instead of moving the broker to the second config mgr, if we connect to the broker thru second config mgr would it be a problem.

Thanks

I didn't think it was unclear.

Let me try again.

A broker can be registered with, and therefore only "connected to", ONE configuration manager.

You can't register the same broker with more than one configuration manager.

You can't change which configuration manager a broker is registered to.
