We are in the middle of finalizing a monitoring clustering and HA mechanism for WMQ and WMQI on Linux on Intel
Read through a few posts and IBM redbooks on HA. Have a few queries.
Is it possible to monitor WMQ and WBI MB (queue managers, queues, channels, message flows etc etc) on Linux on Intel(Suse Linux using HP Open View (client prefers HP Open View)
What are the the process instances that need to be monitored by HP Open view?
(I see a whole series of AMQ* processes started when WMQ series service is started. Similarly which service for broker)
Is HP Open view a good option for this (read a lot of posts talking about Candle Omegamon XE and contact admin Contact Admin)
Is WBI monitor 5 or 6 a good option once it is released for the same? (client has licenses for WBI monitor 4.2.4 which does not work on Linux)
For HA and failover read from IBM support site that the HACMP scripts for WMQ and WBIMB are only for AIX. Does anyone have any scripts for Linux for HA and failover along similar lines like IC61 and MC63 IBM support pacs
Any documentation that can help me with this, or any one else who has already implemented this please help? |

If you purchase the HP Open View solution for monitoring and managing WebSphere MQ, you are purchasing a contact admin product.
So, yes, it's possible.
I don't quite know what pieces of contact admin software you'll have to purchase to monitor both MQ and WBIMB with OpenView, though. I'm sure that the contact admin Sales people would love to talk to you in person about it, though. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
