Hello there ...
I have a big problem concerning Installation of IBM RAC for AIX ( the latest version found on CSD supports ).
I set variables such as, under root user.
My path to user /usr/java131/bin for java motor,
My display to have the installshield ( I really miss smitty ),
I started the installation like this :
java -Djava.compiler=NONE -jar setup.jar
The installation started with success ... But, after the second "Map" I clicked next, and nothing happend, except this :
stackpointer=34c76050.
It is a development platform, so I really need Agent Controler to ensure what we do is the best between MQSI V2.1 and WBI.
Any clue ?
I did not found anything on IBM WebSite.
Tx,
Cyril |

We have also been unable to satisfactorily install the Agent Controller (but this time on an AIX 5.2 server).
We are running WBIMB 5.0 with CSD04 and so I downloaded the relevant version of RAC from the WBIMB download page (it has to be v5.0.2 as we have installed WBIMB CSD03 or later).
I used X-Windows and set the DISPLAY environment variable. I made sure that the PATH and LIBPATH contained the JRE directories, etc.
However, it sounds as though you didn't even get as far as me - I got as far as the "File Copying" screen before it gave a "native is ISMP object" error and core-dumped.
I eventually managed to install it using "geninstall" and can start the RAServer if I am logged on as root.
However, if I logon as the "mqsi" or "mqm" user, I cannot start it and get an "Unable to start RAServer, Major Code = nnn, Minor Code=nn error" (unfortunately, I cannot remember the actual error code values).
It looked like a straightforward "file/directory chown/chmod" problem, but I have compared the authorisations with an install that I did on a Sun Solaris server and cannot see anything different (on Solaris the ISMP install worked without a problem and I could run the RAServer without being logged on as root).
I tried to debug the RAServer, by updating the serviceconfig.xml file and setting LogLevel = "DEBUG", but that didn't indicate anything (in fact it didn't log any more data than when LogLevel was = "WARNING" ?).
Unless anyone has seen this problem before, I guess I shall have to raise a PMR with IBM on Monday...
Regards,
Nick. |

Hi,
There is a problem with the AIX version of Agent Controller (ISMP incpmatibility). Please call into IBM and they will supply you with a fixed version of Agent Controller.
