Hi Guys,
I have been given a task of replicating two machine - the machine that i have to do the exact copy of ( in terms of defined message flows in WMQI, and defined Queues in Wesphere MQ ) - what manuals can i refere to - in order to achieve this.
i want to do this manually instead of using tools like Norton Ghost - so that i can learn in the process. ( things like exporting message flows, backing up MRM DBs, etc )
what i'm looking for is a place to start, like the best what to achieve this!
the machine is running Windows 2000 Pro. WMQI 2.1 ( Fix Pack 6), Websphere MQ 5.2.1, DB2 Universal Database v7.
any suggestion will be appreciated.
Thanx ryzor. |

There are manu ways of doing this. These are the steps you could follow,
1. Use one of the supportpac to backup queue definitions from existing queue manager. Edit the backup script to get rid of any system objects.
2. Create a new queue manager on machine2. Create MQ Objects from the backup script from step 1.
3. Backup Configuration manager DB, MRM DB from machine 1. This way you dont need to export message flows and messae sets to migrate to machine 2.
4. Restore db backed-up from step 3 to machine 2.
5. Create configuration manager using restored dbs from step 4.
6. Create a new Broker on machine 2.
7. Define the new broker in topology on machine 2.
I hope this info helps you to get started. _________________ Kiran
