I am getting following error, when I try to import a FDL to runtime.

11/19/2004 9:18:38 AM "LGE_users_11182004_2.fdl", line 313: FMC20015E Syntax error while lexing character "Ã¿" after seeing "'".

When I go and check line 313 in my FDL, I don't see "Ã¿" character. I have actually generated this FDL manually using text editor (textpad).

Any idea why I am getting this weird error?

Your FDL syntax is wrong.
You should carefully observer your FDL and see what kind of error you are getting. Maybe the error may not be on the same line as the fmcibie says but if you have not closed something that you opened a few lines further up etc.

Try importing chunks of FDL to localize the error

I was able to find out the syntax error. As you said correctly the syntax error was many lines above the reported error line number.
