I was wondering if the Qmgrs need to be started with the mqm userid?
According to the documentation it say to create mqm userid and mqm group but does it require the Qmgr run with that ID?
What do others generally do?
Thanks in advance for any info regarding this.

jrjoe,
I thought vennela answered this question for you in an earlier post: http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18721

The answer was No.
Vennela's queue managers, supporting Workflow, are running successfully under the fmc account.

I think that is fine.
I checked on a box where fmc (workflow admin) is part of mqm group and the QMGR is started as fmc. The process listing shows fmc as the owner of the process. |

Yes, you can run your queue manager with different user-id. Please take a look at

It'd be better to start the queue manager using mqm user-id. _________________ Kiran

But then you say that it is better to use mqm user-id.

I guess I was looking for some clarifation on best practice and what others may be doing.
Thanks in advance |
