Hi John,
Let me rephrase the question, If the UPES is executed as Asynchronous then it doesn't start the program associated with the activity then what is the purpose of this definition. I guess it is a dummy executable.
If the UPES is executed as Synchronous then how does this program come into picture or what is the role of this program.
In both the cases is the program a dummy executable to avoid warning message.
Pls let me know.
Regards

In Both cases the program exists to read the XML message off the queue and to perform the processing required by that activity. An Asynchronous UPES activity, most certainly will send the XML Message.
I really don't understand what you are talking about regarding a warning message.

Hi John,
In case of UPES activity(Whether Synchronous or Asynchronous), If I have a program associated with it, will this program executed. If Yes then it doesnt execute at my place what could be wrong.
Regarding the warning message - In the Redbook "Intra-Enterprise_BPM_redbook" Page 188, It says the program name is specified to avoid warning message. What does this mean.
Thanks and Waiting for your reply.
Regards

The program will NOT be executed. Instead MQWF will format an XML message and send it to the Queue specified for this particular UPES.
I have no clue what that Redbook is referring to.
