I was wondering if QMGRs can be run with userids other then the 'mqm' id?

I have Event Broker and was wondering if I could run the Qmgr with the same id as the broker?

Thanks in advance
Joe

AFAIK, QMGRs always run under mqm user id.
If you add the user id that you are using to start the broker to mqm group, then you can start the QMGR using that user id. But since strmqm is a setuid program, the amq processes will still show up under mqm user id.

I have userid wbi1 added to group mqm.
Next I did a strmqm QM1 logged in as wbi1.
The QM1 processes showed when doing a ps -ef as running as wbi1.

This is MQ version 5.3 on AIX 5.

What am I missing on this?
Can the QM1 only run correctly as user mqm?

Thanks in advance for any help regarding this.

I think that is fine.
I checked on a box where fmc (workflow admin) is part of mqm group and the QMGR is started as fmc. The process listing shows fmc as the owner of the process.

Code:
