Hi,
We are running MQ 5.3.5 on Solaris 8 on a machine that has 1 GB of RAM. I was hoping to confirm that having shminfo_shmmax at 4294967295 would be ok or does it need to be lowered. What sort of impact would lowering it have. What effect would not lowering it have.
Any info appreciated.

Why would this affect the maximum message size. That is set in MQ and has a limit of 100MB although defaults to 4MB. This, I believe, sets the maximum amount of memory available to the application. I think that actually leaving it as it is will have no effect as the system wouldnt have that memory to use but was hoping to confirm it. _________________ Keith Guttridge
