I am running WBIMB V 5 and need to FTP files into a server (Put MQ messages into file as well as Get -Take file and convert into MQ message).

What would be the best way to implement this.I am looking at two options

1) Using plug-in nodes

2)Using Primitive Nodes

I would prefer option 2.Im not ,sure if V5 has this functionality. If not which is the best option. Please help.

Primeur has an excellent add-on product for file processing in MQSI/WBIMB.

There are various sample plug in nodes which can function as input nodes reacting to file arrival. See the Java code supplied as additional materials with the Redbook - WMQI 2.1 deployment and migration.

You could also look at things like Connect Direct and the JText adapter, but to be honest I would recommend looking at writting a custom java app to do this.

I suggest using the Commerce Quest PM4Data product that IBM is reselling vs. doing an FTP.

PM4Data sits on the file server and converts that file into MQ messages and vice-versa (if needed) Those MQ messages can be handled quite easily by a flow vs. building that logic yourself. Also since you're using MQ as the transport you get all the security enhancements. Finally PM4Data also has auditing capabilities if compliancy is a concern.

Message me if you have further questions...
