Does anyone know why I'm getting this error in the FDC file?

What does it say in your AMQERR0*.LOG.

Also, please post all the content of the .FDC file created. The AMQ6118 error code is just a notification that an FFST file has been created.

Code:
# mqrc AMQ6118

 536895768  0x20006118  xecF_E_UNEXPECTED_RC

MESSAGE:
An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred (457)

EXPLANATION:
An error has been detected, and the MQ error recording routine has been called.

ACTION:
Use the standard facilities supplied with your system to record the problem
identifier, and to save the generated output files. Contact your IBM support
center.  Do not discard these files until the problem has been resolved.

Excerpt from a posting found on the IBM website:
Quote:
Cause
The queue manager fails to start, because it could not allocate enough system resources to format the MQSeries logs. The "QUE" mentioned in return code (hrcE_MQLO_QUE_EXCEED), is actually an IPC system resource, type(q). The WMQ logger processes use this system resource to format new logs.

Solution
Use the UNIX ipcrm command to cleanup the IPC resources allocated to the queue manager; be certain to remove the "q" type resources.
Restart the queue manager.

Try the recommended solution and see if it helps.

Just curious, from the information provided, how did you come to this conclusion? In other words, exactly what field/s in the .FDC output provided lead you to the conclusions you posted?

Whenever a FDC is brought to my attention, and prior to opening a PMR with IBM, I take the Probe Id and search the IBM website. This generally results in a number of matches (when you think about it, how many times are you actually the first one to discover a problem). I then refine the search to include one or more of the following FDC parameters: Component, Program Name, Major Errorcode , Minor Errorcode and Arith1.

In this particular case, the IBM thread was uncovered using the Probe Id and the Minor Errorcode for the search criteria. Remember not all IBM postings contain the entire first section of the FDC, usually just portions or key parameters.

If the specifics outlined in the thread (software version, OS platform, "cause", etc..), appear plausible we'll investigate the recommended solution.
