They did it to us in PA too. No Nader on the ballot.
I have to say that this is a sign of corruption. We need national ballots for president...

Sometimes I would also like to see a stronger 3rd (or 4th) party arise. But the fact of the matter is we all know that 1 of 2 people are going to be president. So, why not vote for one of them, whomever that might be.
I realize that for a 3rd party to rise it needs support, but that's a whole different subject.
I'm going to be voting for "W". Granted, he doesn't speak the English language very well, but I truley think he cares for the USA and the people and also he is for the most part steadfast and does what he says. I don't always agree with everything he does but for the most part he has been a good president. I see very little of these qualities in the Kerry/Edwards campaign.
GWB has alot of moral/christian values I believe in:
1.] Anti-Abortion
2.] Anti-Stem Cell research
3.] Marriage is between a man & woman.
W has fought the war on terrisom (and Islamic Extremist) that has been going on against the US since the 1970's. He/they have created almost 2 million new jobs in a year, we have had the highest GDP in 20 years, tax breaks for people like me & you, has a vision of the future of America. I would like to have the option to move a portion of my SS into stocks, bonds, mutual funds.
I truely think Kerry is for big govt and doesn't have good moral values for our country. He favors abortion/pro-choice. Equal rights, what about that childs choice. That child had no choice in the matter, perhaps that child would say "Hey I would like a chance to live a make a difference in this world."
He wants a govt run healthcare and during the debate said something to the effect that if you don't want it, don't take it. Thats pretty much sums it up for me.
Don't tell me he won't raise taxes, when 98 times (and I think it was 100% of the time) he voted to raise them. Missed approx. 72% of bills he could vote on. If I missed that much work I'd be fired in a heartbeat.
He wavers on every subject, esp Iraq. We've all heard the famous line "I voted for the 87 billion before I voted against it!"
Kerry says he has a plan for Iraq. Sounds almost the same as Bush's, except that he will get the our allies (German, France, Russia) and UN involved. GWB tried, but those 3 were never going to vote for the resolution when they along w/ the UN were getting $$ under the table from Saddam. The UN is a joke (look at the Sudan, Iran, North Korea), it has turned into what the League of Nations turned into after time.
As for Saddam and WMD's I think he had them (or was actively pursing them, esp if he knew that Iran was close to becoming nuclear) and perhaps passed them to Syria. Like mentioned when the 2 biggest powerhouse's said he had them, including Russian intelligence and several other countries too.
I didn't see the intelligence report that Bush & Kerry saw on Iraq and maybe going to Iraq shouldn't have been that high on the priority list for states that sponsor terrisom (perhaps Yemen) , but it's so easy to look back and critize. We eventually need to go into Iraq, after 17 resolutions that weren't enforced something needs to be done.
I'm for not nosing into the affairs of other countries, until they start picking on me. So yes, we have to weed out the terroist wherever they might try to hide.
You either have a 9.10 mindset or 9.11 mindset, no matter where you hang your hat at nite. |

So that a voice of dissent can be registered and possibly a movement started.
Some people actually think of these two choices as equivalents of Satan and Satan's dog. Let's say that you are a religous conservative voter and that the two candidates were both highly enthused pro abortion advocates. They want everybody to get an abortion at least once (even men) and promise to create federal abortion clinics and put one on every corner of every town - this all to be funded by proceeds from the sales of all the firearms they confiscate in their "take all the guns away from americans and sale them to islamic extremists" program . Chances are you would not vote for either of them - even tho one of them was gonna win.
There are subtle and complex "litmus test" issues that influence folks that support third party candidates.
Vote third party. You can write it in.

yes i see your point. if a person really feels that these 2 candidates (Bush & Kerry) are Satan & Satan's dog then by all means vote your third party.
that is why i mentioned voting 3rd party is whole nother subject. if (to me) things were that bad that i couldn't vote for 1 of the 2 big parties then by all means i would vote 3rd party.

nice to know that someone can make you see things from a different point of view.
i guess the delima for this election is no one can really tell you why they're voting for Kerry other than "they hate Bush."
look @ kerry's record in 20 years of the senate, what has he accomplished? i think people need to be informed and most people aren't, unless you listen to talk radio and possibly fox news. the CNN's, CBS, NBC, are so left-wing liberal, why do you never hear about the oil for food scandal on those stations?

More people voted for Bush than any other Presidential Candidate in the history of the United States. Record numbers of eligable voters participated in this election.
Bush - 59,019,508
Kerry - 55,437,141
The Electoral tally is 286 for Bush, 252 for Kerry. No State Election was close enough to for Kerry to engage the 15,000 Lawyers he had waiting to spend $52 million dollars on lawsuits.
The icing on the cake was the defeat of Tom Daschle Senate Minority Leader. The first Senate Leader to be defeated in an election in 52 years. He and the DNC spent $85.00 per registered voter in South Dakota and that doesn't include all the section 527 ads.
I think I'll take the wife out for a Steak Dinner tonight.

That was the Democratic Party that was stopping Nader from getting on the ballot. They looked at him as a spoiler. Odd, I don't recall the Republicans doing the same thing to Perot.

| Although I am dismayed at the result I thinks its wrong to sterotype and insult all the GWB voters. AS Brits and Americans we are all very similar with some cultural differences, and also many Americans are also dismayed at this result. I do however find it hard to understand why he was voted back in but I guess thats more about me and my views on the world than anything else. |
