Our DB2 application runnning on OS/390 is putting MQ messages to the Remote Queue created on Win NT Server.

Would issuing the DB2 Commit cause the MQCMIT on that Win NT server?

Would issuing the DB2 Rollback cause the MQBACK on that Win NT server?

It is also getting some messages fro the OS/390 local quueues.

How the DB2 Commit and Rollback would work for these?

The remote queue you are referring to is a local queue on the NT box but you have a remote queue defined on OS/390 right?

I think you should be able to do both of these.

MQ commit will not be done on the NT box by a DB2 commit on the mainframe, but an MQ commit will be done on the mainframe and the message will be available for the MCA on the mainframe to be picked up and sent to NT box.

It works the same way for this also

If you plan to coordinate transactions between MQ and DB2 then use 2-phase commit.
