We are going through a performance exercise with WMQI2.1 CSD06 and need some input.
To measure the performance of each primitive we have a trace before and after the node. Our main concern is the output node where the time difference is 2.0 secs for a 800kb message(not persistent). The settings on the node are all default with a local queue definition.
- Is this the best way to measure mqsi... using traces?
- are there other settings for an output node that would minimise time?
- how can we measure time before the input node?

I think you should get some hints from the supportpac IP03, a little Java tool that estimates throughput of messages. Not sure of the accuracy, but it does give you a relative idea of how performance is affected by having multiple Compute nodes, database hits, etc. It also take platforms into consideration (from the thread http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=12397&highlight=performance+wmqi ).
Hope this helps,
