I've only been a member of MQSeries.net for about 16 months but during that relatively short period of time I have profitted greatly.
I have learned from reading threads on this Forum.
I have learned by posting my problems and receiving guidance from other members of this Forum.
I have learned by providing guidance to other members of this Forum.
So I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone, especially bduncan.
Regards,

Thanks for the compliments! But I think most of your appreciation needs to go to the other people who do most of the responding. My schedule has made it very hard for me to spend the amount of time on this site that I'd like, but fortunately there are a large number of people who work hard to provide all the answers! _________________ Brandon Duncan

True, true, but without you hosting the site, no one would be able to answer these questions cuz, there wouldn't be anywhere to post them. _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

I would also like to thank Brandon Duncan for making this site the best thing for MQ professionals worldwide.
Not a day goes by without me telling to someone new about this site. Most of them come back to me and say that they love this site so much.
I should also thank the members of this forum for posting their beautiful informative ever surprising intelligent replies. |

That he doesn't have sponsers lining up is baffling....
It might be that not being able to advertise even if you are a sponser may put them off.
What if the ads were limited to only the sponsers specific forum, and they followed some rules (no pop-ups, no movement on screen, etc) Of course they could link the ad back to their own site where they can have all the bells and whistles..
Consider it Brandon. That might be the problem. _________________ Peter Potkay

Peter,
I'm as baffled as you, and believe me, I've approached some companies and told them what a sponsorship entails, but I also say "Tell me what sort of advertising/sponsorship package YOU'D like, and we can discuss it from there"
But in this economy, companies are looking for every way possible to trim expenses, and sometimes IMHO, at the detriment of revenues. So I'll just keep trying to convince people that sponsoring this site is a good investment - because everyone who is already a sponsor tells me how much business it has brought them _________________ Brandon Duncan

All,
I'll put my 2 cents in.
I believe most MQ related companies see great value in mqseries.net but can't figure out how 'they' would benefit from being a sponsor of mqseries.net .
The value that I (Capitalware) sees is name / brand exposure. Every business day, a thousand (I don’t remember the daily stats) people see the word Capitalware and MQ Visual Edit. So, my goal is to burn those names into everyone’s brains.
The other thing is that most companies already have an online mechanism for handling problems / queries from customers. Plus I can tell you factually that most software vendors do NOT want their dirty laundry aired. Many moons ago, I worked for a reasonable large software vendor and they won’t even publicly post their own product manuals on their web site (you had to login with a client ID & password to get access!!!).
What we need to do is come up with a 'hook' for Brandon to pitch to these companies. Here are a few thoughts:
- Exclusive product launches
- Give aways i.e. Sign up for a company newsletter win a Palm 5
- Webinars
- etc...
Regards,
Roger Lacroix

I am ashamed of myself. I should have extended and now do extend the "Thanks" to Roger for sponsoring mqseries.net.
I remember when Brandon was on the verge of closing the site down for lack of funds. I was one of the few the proud to donate. Then like a White Knight, Cressida Tech stepped in and saved the day.
