Do you really mean what you said?
How can you seperate Web client from WAS? Web client is something that is installed in WAS.

Unless I am mistaken here, what the question is asking is can I run the WebClient (which is a WAS app) on a machine other than where the workflow is running. And the answer is yes. Wolfgang's pdf covers this as does the Best Practices.

John,

Thanks a lot for the info. I went through the pdfs you mentioned. Actually I read them before once and had the opinion that it would be a good pratice to separate them out.

My question is other way
I know I can run WAS ( Webclient) on the same machine as workflow or a different one, but what would be the compelling reason to go either way.

If the no.of applications ( and so the clients ) using workflow ( I also mean WAS here) grows, can we do a client concentrator set up if we have was and workflow on the same server . AFAIK I cant.

Please clarify me if I am wrong.

Thanks

If the issue is scalability the Wolfgang K. pdf will show you some of the scalability you can get using the config you suggest, by running multiple versions of WAS all going to a single MQWF.

Hi Vennela,

Looks like I am confused.

All the documents are referring to the client-concentrator ( or a node with websphere different from the one with workflow server) when they are talking about any benefits of defining a QManager for client.
(Atleast thats what went into my head)

The following is from Production Rollout Doc

Quote:
Please note that it is necessary for clients to use a WebSphere MQ concentrator (queue manager on a node other then any of the WebSphere MQWorkflow nodes) to be able to exploit load balancing through the WebSphere MQ cluster.

Please assume I am DUMB and someone let me know if there is any advantage of creating a QManager for webclient even though WAS (Webclient) and workflow exist on the same physical machine.

But why assume?
You really are

I still don't understand what the problem is.

LOL...

Adi, please read some manuals, you just cannot dive into this stuff and expect answers to complex questions on this board when you don't understand the question...
