Hello,
Can someone help out? I install mqseires 5.1 on WIN2000 and outside of seeing the queue manager, there isn't much I can do via the explorer. Would this have anything to do with the fact that I use Win Terminal Server? If so, does MQ5.3 have this problem?
Thanks in advance,

I'm not sure that you can easily tell what the problem is. I don't even think that Windows 2000 was around when MQ 5.1 went out of support? However, I know that terminal services support came much later, and I'd recommend moving to WMQ 5.3. |

5.1 only supported w2k at csd04 level.
5.1 NEVER supported windows terminal services and there are known issues trying to run under it. In fact 5.3 fixpack 3 was (if memory serves me correctly) the first version to support wts, because the changes needed to support it were the same changes needed to support XP. |

If you cannot move to MQ 5.3 then try using different software like VNC instead of WTC. _________________ Kiran

Kirani,
I had the same thought regarding using VNC instead of WTerminal Ser- same result.
We currently have CSD09 on the prod. NT system. Would CSD09 solved this?
When stopping the IBM MQseries Service, I get the error DCom was unable to communicate with the computer using configured protocols |

Followed the instructions- same result. I decided to install CSD09 for the heck of it- that solved the problem!. I could see anything in the readme regarding this problem. Oh well.
I'm still trying to convince the client to upgrade to 5.3..
Thanks for the help! |

Out of interest, what csd level were you at before upgrading - if below 4 that would explain it. If above 4, I have no idea! |

We were at CSD4.
We are now able to do everything using terminal server. The problem is that this doesn't work all the time. MQexplorer still has a problem with Terminal Server. VNC is still being used as a backup(
Kirani, CSD09 will solve your Dcom problem. Sorry for the very late response. |
