We are using WMQ5.3 CSD07 in Solaris 9, with MA0C as the msg broker. And the application that does pub/sub is written in JMS.
Very occasionaly it happened that, the app has been successfully publishing to the broker, and then got "Broker No Response" error. When I checked the broker status using "dspmqbrk". it showed "running". I noticed that there were a few msgs queueing up in the stream queues (not the SYSTEM default stream, but hopefully it doesn't matter).
I then shutdown the app and tried "endmqbrk", which was hanging for a long time. After I did "endmqm", the hanging "endmqbrk" process then terminated. After "strmqm" and "strmqbrk", the broker went back into a fine running state.
Has anyone had similar experience? Is there a better way for me to bounce the broker, without bouncing the qmgr? Or is there any know "defects" of this MA0C?
