I'm attempting to run the JMSAdmin utillity. I've made the following changes to my JMSAdmin.config file:

INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
PROVIDER_URL=file:/C:/JMSConfig
SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION=none

Here is the output of the command:

****************************************************
C:\WebSphereMQ\Java\bin>jmsadmin -v -t

5648-C60, 5724-B41, 5655-F10 (c) Copyright IBM Corp. 2002. All Rights Reserved.
Starting Websphere MQ classes for Java(tm) Message Service Administration

Initializing JNDI Context...
INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY: com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
PROVIDER_URL: file:/C:/JMSConfig
JNDI initialization failed, please check your JNDI settings and service

Error: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException; remaining name 'C:\JMSConfig'

********************************************************
Does the c:\JMSConfig file need to pre-exist? Why is this erroring out?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

Why do you want to run JMSAdmin?

Ive have a user that will be connecting to MQ through java using a straight connection. I need to give them a JNDI file. There is no LDAP or App server.

I just tried running JMSAdmin with a file that pointed to a non-existent directory. I got the same error as you. Have you tried creating the directory you want to use (ie, C:\JMSConfig )? If so, what did it do?
