Hi
We are planning a new solution where recovery is essential, in this matter I have a few questions regarding linear logging.
The linear logs contain the information to recover persistent messages. Is this correct?
Can you take backup of the logfiles while qmgrs are running?
Is it possible to restore to a time prior to media failure? I try to explain. Say you experience media failure on a sunday at 18.00 and several batches have run on saturday and sunday. Can you recover back to the state MQ had on friday at 16.00 and if so how?
Any advice or other considerations are greatly apreciated.

Yes and No (Persistent messages yes, none persistent messages no)
I'd look at ReQuest if you are looking for more/different functionality then provided by the IBM backup methods. _________________ Patrick Goodhart
