Hi,
Using the mqsicreate command, I have created a bar file in C:\temp\test.bar. I need to configure some of the parameters used in the flow (for example, queue names), and I can only do this via the Toolkit. So I added the bar file into a server project in my workspace, but the bar file is not showing in the Toolkit. Could you please tell me how can I view a BAR file created using createbar command, in the Toolkit?? Also has any one tried using mqsideploy command with the -rmMsagFlow parameter??
Thanks |

You need to import the bar into the toolkit.
Look under file and pick the import option. Then select filesystem, locate the bar and tell the toolkit where to put it in its filesystem. _________________ Patrick Goodhart

Of course,,, I don't know why I was trying to add it to the workspace rather than importing it.
Ok, let me ask a question here, do you have to use the toolkit to use the configurable parameters? Is there a way of editing the BAR file?? We trying to automate the process of deploying without having to use the toolkit
Thanks a lot |

You need to use the toolkit to edit the parameters (I know I'd like it to work some other way too...).
The bar file can be edited in the toolkit. So you can change the parameters for deployment on different brokers. I wouldn't keep adding and removing files to the same bar file, because that can create undeployable bars (they get really large)...
We create a new bar file everytime we want to deploy new flows or message sets.
Basically we determined that the deployment could be automated, but only with manual preparation of the bars.
I think the mqsideploy feature was added kind of last moment, and will be expanded and improved with additional releases. _________________ Patrick Goodhart

Well... technically... a bar file is just a zip file.
And the deployment descriptor that holds the parameters is just an XMl file inside that zip file...
but it's better to do it in the Toolkit. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
