I am very new to MQSeries. don't suprise if i ask simple question. I installed 5.2 in a stand alone win2k, install client in a nt4 workstation. set up all q manager, local q and serve connection in the server, using environment variable MQSERVER, MQ_USER_ID and MQ_PASSWORD in the client machine, the user id I used is a mq server machine local user, member of the local mqm group in the mq server, every time try to connect to the q manager i get rc 2035, any help will be appreciated.

Ray, when a 2035 security conditiion is detected by a queue manager, it logs a record of this into the MQSeries reporting logs. Go and have a look at the:
C:\Program Files\MQSeries\qmgrs\qmgrName\errors folder. You should find a growing file in there. Edit the text file and determine what userid MQSeries queue manager thinks is being used. |

Thanks kolban
I check the error log, it showed that the MQ used the userid currently log on to the client machine, why it did not use the one set up in the environment variable MQ_USER_ID
