Hi all, been encountering a lot of problems getting workflow 3.5 FP 1 working on solaris with Oracle 9.2.0, was wondering if other people have experienced similar problems while not using the golden platform triangle of DB2, AIX and Windows?

1) I cannot delete and then create a new configuration from the fmczutil tool. I get the error "FMC33681E The profile update for configuration FMC failed" after deleting the original configuration and trying to create the second. My solution is to uninstall and then re-install.

2) The documentation states that it requires shared library 'libclntsh.so', when it actually appears to look for 'libclntsh.so.9.0'

3) The workflow queue manager will not start, the queue manager is configured to use the correct switch file, but the switch file cannot find the library 'libclntsh.so.9.0'. The documentation states this should have a link within '/usr/lib', '<install>/lib' or the oracle lib directories. I have a link to the shared library within '<install>/lib', but the switch file is obviously not looking there.

Thanks for any input.

Jonathon:

You might want to post this one on the IBM newsgroup. I am not sure if we have too many using MQWF on Solaris here.

GOOD LUCK

One thing I would check is the file permissions on /var/fmc and the sub dirs under it

We've got (had) WF 3.404 on Solaris with Oracle 9.20, it failed when going up to Oracle 9.204. Apparently there are known problems with this Oracle patch level and 9.205 too. They're XA problems, possibly what you're experiencing, is it unpatched 9.20?

I got it working in the end, put a few process instances through and now workflow appears to be hosed. The admin server starts, but the execution server gives a status of 'starting' for a few minutes and then dies. The cleanup server behaves the same way. There is nothing in the logs at all.

I'll check the oracle version, re-install and try again.

Thanks for the help.

We had a similar situation with WF 3.4 SP4, Oracle 9.2.0.4, solaris. One important thing here to note was we had MQ 5.2 that time.

I remember succesfully installing workflow and everything. But soon found out that admin server was abending frequently though the exec servers are running fine. This happened just after installation and when thre only fdl in runtime was the sample credit fdl.

IBM put the blame on MQ 5.2 but I have my own doubts about that theory. we havent tested the set up with MQ 5.3 yet though.

Thanks
