we have a requirement where we have groups and we need to "assign" workitems to users within the groups. It is not like a virtual Id scenario where users acquire the tasks. Here even the groups change dynamically. I was just looking for some pointers as to how to implement this scenario

Is there any reason you don't want to use roles?

Yes. you can create Roles and add Persons under that Role. If the groups are changing dynamically, then I would implement UPES Activity.
