Hi...I need to subtract hours and mins from the current time but am failing miserably! I think I need to use INTERVAL but it won't work for any variable I declare (of type INTERVAL)! Does INTERVAL work with variables? It seems fine if I use INTERVAL '60' MINUTE!

Derek my old chum hope you are keeping well ... it's a few years on ... but here's the answer for what it's worth:

set result = CURRENT_DATE + CAST(variable AS INTERVAL DAY);

Thanks for that....I can finally implement that project now!!

Anyway....I gave up at the time and passed all my date manipulations into UDB as it's much more powerful!
