Hello...
I am new to the MQAdmin world, and have a question regarding the SYSTEM.ADMIN.CHANNEL.EVENT Queue. I saw that the Maximum Queue Depth is set to 3000 messages, and this is slowly but surely getting reached throughout the last few weeks. I advised that I want to clear these queues in the Test regions, but was told that you can't simply just clear the queues of messages, as things will get out of sync. What do I need to do to clear the queue and ensure that nothing else is impacted?
These messages are channel events, ie channel started / stopped - It has nothing to do with the inner workings of MQ and are really provided for informational purposes. Clearing them is harmless as long as you have no software which relies on reading them, (Note some monitoring software can use them to monitor channel statuses).
You'd be suprised how many systems run with this queue full... Its a harmless common feature of traces I look through
