I am going to take the test 292 (IBM Certified Solution Designer - WebSphere MQ Workflow V3.4).
Can you give me suggestions on to prepare for this test (the areas that I should concentrate more on)?
Thanks in advance

Read all the MQ Workflow manuals (be sure to read Buildtime ,Runtime, Concepts and Architecture).
Read the Red book Continuous Business Process Management with HOLOSOFX BPM Suite and IBM MQSeries Workflow.
Apart from these you may want to have a look at the support packs and glance through "Production workflow" by Frank Lieman and Diet Roller ( Only do this if you have enough time ) _________________ -manoj |

I agree with everything manoj says... and would like to add that there is a practice test available on line now at the IBM certification site (dont know url) but I heard that they may now be charging people to take it. It might be worth a look for you.

Thanks Guys! I will go thru all the manuals one more time.
One more thing, I heard that, instead of direct technical questions. the test concentrates more on general practical scenarios in which companies uses Workflow for, Is this true?

CHF,
I would say getting a good knowledge base on the available MQWF support pacs as well will be a good thing to do.
Good Luck!

I found that there were a lot of "what if" type questions. When I took the test I concentrated on the real black and white questions regarding the technical aspects of MQWF, and took my best guess on the what if type questions. Using this method I passed with a couple of questions to spare.
I really don't know why they ask these subjective questions. It is really quite difficult to come up with a decent scenario, with only a short narrative. I fully understand that people must know how to model if they are going to pass this test, but I wish there were a better way to test for the knowledge.
Once again... GOOD LUCK _________________ John McDonald

I agree with John about the 'what if' questions. It's like they really want you know the ins and outs before you can answer most of the questions. I took the test and failed it both times I took it, and realized that I had a different test the second time I took it. u should be able to pick 3 answers from a set of 5 answers that are very closely related to each other (meaning u need the perfect answer). What I am unsure of is whether or not they grant u points if you get 2 out of 3 of the answers in a questions. I was planning on spending some more time reinforing concpets such as staff resolution, authentication exit and ldap befoe I took it again.
gd lck to u...

LOL
I passed the test. Required passing score is 59% and I passed it exactly with 59%.
There were 61 questions total, we need to answer 36 questions correctly to pass the test. There were lot of silly and simple questions, in which I made mistake in all of them. I realized the mistakes after coming out of the exam hall. I should have prepared well to get higher score, but anyways I had passed the test, and am for that.
Thanks a lot for sharing your ideas.
