Hi All,

We have added the following parameter to the qm.ini file on all distributed boxes:

CHANNELS:
StopEvent=ALWAYS

To allow channel event monitoring when channels are in Retry status (or other). We have tested this and it works fine.

We currently use BMC Patrol for MQ to monitor MQ, which also manages Mainfame nodes (MQ instances). However, we would like to add the same parameter to the Mainframe Queue Manager equivelant qm.ini file but don't know if it is possible.

Question 1 -

What is the Mainframe qm.ini file called on the mainframe?

Question 2 -

Can this configuration file be changed to also alert on channel status's in teh same way as disbributed (i.e. CHANNELS: StopEvent=ALWAYS)?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Dharmesh

There is no QM.ini file as such on z/OS. What you have instead are CSQINP1 and CSQINP2 DD cards. These are where you would define things like commands to be issued at startup time, any defines that you may require to be 'reset' etc.

Other than that there are a couple of a load modules that you assemble with queue manager specific information, like logging archiving information (CSQ6ARVP), and channel 'system' information (CSQ6CHIP)

You may want to check out the System Setup Guide (the OS/390 variety).
