Hi guys,

who able to help me?

because I have been given the cdrom contents as a .tar file for the installation on sun box I did the following:
1- download this file on a dty on the machine
2 - create the /cdrom dty
3 - copy the .tar file in the dty /cdrom
4 - in the dty /cdrom made the untar cmde: <tar -xvf the_tar_file.tar>
5 - under 'root' userid try to install mqseries with the commande:
pkgadd -d /cdrom

the process begins correctly but I get a lot of messages like:
/opt/mqm/READMES/de/readme
pkgadd : ERROR : cppath(): unable to stat

and a lot of others!

what is the pb?

can we install mqs from a .tar file instead of cdrom????

Yes, you can.
We do all our installs from electronic media.
But unfortunately I looked through my doc and couldn't find any notes on what specifically I ask my Sun SA's to do with pkgadd.

pkgadd -d should work with the tar file also. Just give the absolute path

pkgadd -d <abs path>
