Here's the current setup.
I have..... 3 machines (2 HP-UX and 1 SUN).
All three have MQ v5.3 with CSD 05.
HP-UX(A) is configured with SSL (VeriSign cert A)
SUN is configured with SSL (VeriSign cert B)
HP-UX(B) is the failover machine/server for HP-UX(A).
Questions are......
1. Should I request a new VeriSign cert for HP-UX(B)?
2. If I request a new VeriSign cert for HP-UX(B), I will need to configure the failover machine (HP-UX B) to communicate with SSL to SUN. Will there be any issues on the certs?
My understanding.
1. If I setup HP-UX(B) with the new VeriSign cert and add the cert to SUN, in case of failover SUN will know that messages are sent from/to HP-UX(B) with the new VeriSign cert. Simply put it, there won't be any SSL issue as long as I make sure that HP-UX (B)'s new VeriSign cert is added/uploaded/imported into SUN key database.
Am I right?
Here's a simple diagram....
Sender/Receiver Receiver/Sender
HP-UX (A) ================>>> SUN
HP-UX (A) <<<================ SUN
On failover....
Sender/Receiver Receiver/Sender
HP-UX (B) ================>>> SUN
HP-UX (B) <<<================ SUN _________________ Jed
