Hi,
I have to install MQ5.2 on 2 Solaris 8 Clustered machines with Sun Cluster 3.0 as failocer MQ servers.
Looking at references the only docs I've found are about Sun Cluster 2.X, 3.1 and Veritas Cluster.
Does anybody experienced this situation?
Does the filesystem suggested layout whith Sun Cluster 2.X (links to
MQHA/<qmgr>/data
MQHA/<qmgr>/log
and relink to /var for @ipc isem and esem dirs)
apply to Sun Cluster 3.0?
Thanks in advance |

no... Sun Cluster 3.x is completely different from previous versions.
You need to contact Sun and get the MQ Agent for MQ for Sun Cluster 3.x
no other option... _________________ Michael

Thanks Micheal, what I'm trying to understand is the filesystem layout for the installation:
the documents about 2.X and veritas say that Mq has to be installed locally on each node on the /opt and /var filesystem, then when creating a queue manager it has to be deployed in a shared filesystem (/HAMQ/<qmgr>/data and log), linked from /var/mqm/<qmgr> and relinked back to /var/mqm/<qmgr> for sem ipc and others.
The Sun Cluster 3.1 dataservice for mq show a different layout a GFS /var/mqm shared among all nodes and 2 possible alternative solution: a failover solution with local qmgrs filesystem linked from /var/mqm and a GFS solution with global qmgrs solution.
How is possible to install mq on each node if /var/mqm is GFS? I mean if I install with /var/mqm GFS the second installation will overryde the first...
what about sem and ipc in a GFS scenario ? are there any special consideration? |

the Sun MQ Cluster Agent documentation will tell you all you need to know. Without it there is no point in trying to get it to work, 'cause it won't... _________________ Michael
