Hi All,
Just a short note to let everyone know that Capitalware Inc. will be an exhibitor at IBM's Transaction & Messaging Conference in Las Vegas, NV on June 14 to 18.
We will have laptops demonstrating the current version of MQ Visual Edit and MQ Visual Browse. We will be handing out flyers of the products and a CD-ROM with a 30-day trial of both products for those who are interested.
Capitalware Inc. will be in booth # 14. Please stop by and say hello.
For those who do not know, Capitalware Inc. is a sponsor of a forum at www.mqseries.net . Brandon Duncan of www.mqseries.net (also a Capitalware Webmaster) will be helping out in our booth.
Roger Lacroix and Brandon Duncan will be happy to answer any of your questions related to Capitalware Inc. products, forum support or MQ philosophy.
Regards,
Roger Lacroix

Hummm, news / rumours, I hope to hear some.
What I am really curious about is how all of the mid-tier MQ players are positioning themselves now that there is 1 less competitor. It will be interesting to see how they position / sell themselves to the attendees. Sales people always have the most interesting 'lines' when they are pitching products.

Well I've only read a couple of articles about the Candle deal, but it seems to me that they will still be regarded as a competitor by the MQSoftwares and BMCs of the world. Firstly, Candle's products aren't going to go away over night. And some of them might not be completely replaced by Tivoli products right? And second, I don't have any figures on this, but I would guess that in a mature market like the one for MQSeries, some percentage of customers already own some other monitoring tool. In other words, you don't always sell to someone who doesn't have a monitoring tool, sometimes you might cherrypick a customer from one of your competitors. Which means you are still going to try and show how your product is superior to Candle's (or whoever's)... _________________ Brandon Duncan

Brandon,
true Candle products are not going away, but will be sitting ducks to the competition! The only question they (competition) need to get between the prospects ears is "What is the future of Candle inside IBM?" (from an MQ perspective). Sure in the end some Candle technology will be integrated into Tivoli, but a lot of customers don't like the framework players in general... _________________ Michael
