Hi,
I use install WBIMB5. Want to use Oracle 9 for the database. The sample .odbc.ini is as follow:
[ODBC Data Sources]
MQSIBKDB=IBM DB2 ODBC Driver
MYDB=IBM DB2 ODBC Driver
ORACLEDB=DataDirect 410 Oracle 8 Driver
SYBASEDB=DataDirect 410 Sybase TDS Driver
[ORACLEDB]
Driver=/opt/wmqi/merant/lib/UKor818.so
WorkArounds=536870912
WorkArounds2=2
Description=Oracle8
ServerName=YourServerName
EnableDescribeParam=1
OptimizePrepare=1
What is the ServerName? Is it the database name? How can it resolve the connection to the database (IP and Port number)?
Now it is using Oracle8, do I need to correct to change it to Oracle9 in the file?

I assume you want to use Oracle 9i for the broker database (as oppose to a user database), is so then you'll need an entry in your .odbc.ini file to identify the broker database, say WBRKBKDB (or whatever you set the DataSourceName, the -n parameter, to when you issue the mqsicreatebroker command).

It's the name of the Oracle schema. This name must map to an entry in the tnsnames.ora file.

The tnsnames.ora file contains the database server name (or IP address) and port, thus providing the addressibility to the database.

You can add whatever text you wish for the description . However, you do not have that flexibility when it comes to the name of the driver:
