Hi all: I am confused we are running 5.1 on our Non-Stop server. We are experimenting with DLQ and we have these 2 queues

1 J7.reply
2 j7 request

When we dial down the threshold to 5 and send 10 -12 5 go to the reply queue the remaining 7 go to DLQ

On these 7 the message type is 'reply' and when I look at the header it points to j7.request even though the destination should be j7.reply. The error I see in MQJexplorer properties is 275

When the developer runs the DLQ retrieval code it removes the messages and places them on the j7.request queue!

Can anyone tell me why the DLH points to the J7.request queue instaed of the original destination?

Is it an OAM issue maybe?

TIA

Does anyone

Hank,

The info you posted isnt enough to conclude anything. Need the complete setup to understand whats going on.

I havent used MQJexplorer much, so i cannot interpret what error 275 means. But you should be able to browse the DLQ message and assess the reason code. Search this forum for dlq browse and you would get a lot of hits, unless of couse if you already have an app that retrieves the actual message removing the dlq header.

"Is it an OAM issue maybe? "
---Doesn't sound like one. If it were, then all the messages would have failed. Some pass and some dont suggest that there's something different in the setup/message somewhere. And hence as mentioned above, you need to find out the reason code that is associated with the message in the DLQ.

Setup would include.

1) Number of qms.
2) Q, xmitq defs.
3) dis qmgr
4) Of course a brief description of what your app is trying to do.

Cheers
Kumar
