If I parse an XML message and it does not fit against a dtd or a schema, does the ExceptionList contain any detail related to the specific tag/element that caused the exception?
Thanks,

Yes. For instance a BIP5004 error message (caused by a badly-formed XML message) displays the following information:
Quote: |
XML parsing error (<insert_4>) encountered on line <insert_2> column <insert_3> while parsing element <insert_5>. |

BIP5004 is really concerned with badly-formed XML, rather than DTD or schema validation. However, the answer is the same - you do get information about where the error occurred in almost all cases. |
