I searched but didn't get a hit....

Our DBAs deleted a broker's persistent store. Fortunately, it was a broker that was about to be deleted anyway. I believe I have successfully removed the broker from the ConfigMgr as I find no references to it in the configuration database; but, I cannot delete the broker itself on the broker host because it can't find its database.

Surely someone else has been the victim of unruly DBAs? I'll appreciate any ideas you have. Thanks.

Hi,
simply create a database with the same name and define the ODBC parameters.
Then run mqsideletebroker.
Greetings

I'll do it and post the results. It will take a few days as I have to submit a work order to the DBAs blah blah blah.

Thanks for the tip.

We went even one step simpler. Our DBA directed the service name in the tnsnames.ora file to an existing DB and gave the wmqi user connection rights. Although we got some errors during deletion (since there was no matching data in the DB), the deletion of the orphaned broker succeeded.

Thanks again for this great tip.
