Hi all from México
We have MQ manager's on wk2, aix and os390, and this is our problem
When the manager is reinitilized for IPL, the sequence numer come to zero on os390 receiver channels
then the Channel Initiator display de error Sequence Number Error, sent xxx expected 1, when manager's on w2k or aix send new messages
I check for reset chl or define chl/replace command's in the system initialization input files, and no exist this commands
Someone now why the sequence number is inccorrect
The version are w2k = 5.2 sp6, aix=5.2 sp3 and os390=5.2 maintenance november 2003
I check on IBM suportt, but i don't find anysing that help me.
Thanks to all for any help or advice |

SONDAPISSA,
That is an interesting problem. Here's what I suggest, (you may want to open an ticket w/ IBM.)
1.] I found some information on IBM, that is similar to your problem. It's APAR_ID-PQ48057 and PTF-UQ54117. Check your system to make sure that UQ54117 is applied.
CSQX526E Message sequence error sent=2, expected=1 on OS/390
receiver channels. The receiver expects sequence number 1 but
the other side is validly sending a higher number. This happens
with distributed sender channels at multiple releases (5.0, 5.1,
and 5.2).
**If the above PTF is applied**
1.] Delete the OS/390 receiver channel and redefine it. And see if the problem still occurs. (Does it occur only after an IPL or does it happen after an recycle of the MQ Subsystem?)
*It may not hurt to delete and redefine all the channels.*
2.] Do you have ADOPTMCA=YES & ADOPTCHK=ALL turned on in the CSQ4XPRM?
Other information. SYSTEM.CHANNEL.SYNCQ keeps track of all message seq numbers for channels.
Any time a channel is defined, it gets its attributes from a SYSTEM.---.--- object. Could it be someone has altered those so on a reset, the channel starts with something other than 1? |

Thanks offshore
I try to investigate for the PTF is applied
answer your questions
1. Already did this and I don't work, the error only occurs after IPL
2. this parameter have this values
ADOPTMCA=NO, ADOPTCHK=QMNAME
The SYSTEM object never altered by start procedure's
the queue SYSTEM.CHANNEL.SYNCQ have some messages, but i can´t see the values with a browse program, this message's are persistent
i use TCP-IP for the communication channel _________________ Julio Cuevas Rocha

SONDAPISSA,
I would definately change the ADOPTMCA=YES. The ADOPTCHK=QNAME should be ok, assuming you have different channel names for the AIX box & NT Box.
This will help channel recovery in an event of a network/communications blip. Once you have that parm changed check to see if you have PTF-UQ61044 applied. Evidently, some customers have had problems with the CHIN not shutting down properly after ADOPTMCA is turned on. |
