Hi,

I am new to MQ and am trying to run a simple queueing example. I have successfully installed Websphere. However when i try and compile my java program with javac, it gives me the following error:-

package com.ibm.mq does not exist

I have checked the path environment variable, and its points to the following Websphere directories

- \Java\lib
- \bin
- \tools\c\samples\bin

There is probably some simple explanation. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks.

You dont have your classpath set properly. Set your classpath to the location where your MQ jar files are stored.

For more info, either search for "classpath" in this forum or in the manuals.

RTM.

Please review Chapter 2 of the WebSphere MQ Using Java manual. In particular, read pages 10-12.

And in case you don't know where the manuals are, click here:
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/mqfamily/library/manualsa/

I would strongly suggest that you download the PDF versions of the manual(s), so that you have a local copy.

Regards,
Roger Lacroix
