In WBI Workbench, if I open Task Object -> Data Tab
1) I see below the input structure/output structure drop down box , there is a Loop/Default option, what is the meaning of that?
2) Below that, there is a Source, Target, Initial Value textbox, what is the use of these?

I am using WBI Workbench 4.2.4
Thanks in advance

meaning of 'Loop' choice : If the task has an exit condition and it fails the output structure(container) can be mapped into the input structure(container) and at the next start of the activity the input container will contain this values. In Source textbox (second question) you can specify an item from the output structure tree (right to Input/Output Structure fields) which has to be feedbacked and in Target textbox you should define the corresponding input structure item.

The 'Default' choice means what is the default contact between input and output containers. In Source textbox you can specify which elements of the input structure have to be mapped into the output structure (Target field). For instance, if it is a NOOP activity the data flow won't be splitted because of the default data mapping

With 'Initial Value' textbox you can define default values.

Thanks Tibor.

In the case of "default", if I have a phi object pointed to a task object, and I have specifed the mapping of input structure and output structure in the phi, do I have to specify the mapping again in the task object?

Thanks in advance

In a phi you cen define data mapping between two tasks (Source task and Target task). On the Data tab of the Task object you can define the mapping inside the activity. These are two different things.

About the NOOP activity. If you define a NOOP activity just for waiting for execution of paralell activities you have to define Default data mapping inside the NOOP activity to forward the data from these activities.
If Deafult data mapping is not defined, the Output conatainer will not contain the arriving data from paralel activities.
