I am trying to find out why do we use the UPES queues for?Can anyone explain me what they define for?

Alex,
UPES is explained in MQ Workflow manuals..You will get these manuals from IBM website..
Also another good way to find answers about basic questions about MQ Workflow is to make use of the "search" facility of this site. Many people have asked general questions about MQ Workflow many times in the past and you will find it useful

The UPES queue stores the activity message sent by the MQ Workflow. An UPES application can then pick up the message from the queue and retrieve the information from the message and do some task.
