Hi All,
Please let me know if it is better to use an MQ series workflow server on my legacy system compared to a normal MQ series server.
The situation:
" The web based application presently sends in bit stream data to the mainframe CICS region invoking the transactions. The result set is then sent back to the application again in bit stream. Now the applicatoin wants to send/receive the data in XML messages.
Hence, Using MQ series server should i go in for an XML parser/unparser to convert the XML data to Bit stream and vice a versa. And then accessing the same CICS programs. .
Or, try and implement the same on a MQ series workflow server."
Please share your view's and rich experencies.
Regards

Sounds like you want Integrator, not Workflow.
Unless you've already bought Workflow. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hi Jefflowrey,
I hardly know Integrator. But yes from what i understand of workflow is that it is the step towards MQintegrator.
Why i looked into the workflow server was beacuse of its inherent capabilty to interface with XML data.
Please excuse me for iam a tyro to EAI.

Not as far as I know. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Jeff is right about Workflow not being a step towards Integrator. Your scenario clearly sounds like an integrator scenario and doesn't appear to have anything to do with the Workflow product. The Integrator products also have an inherent ability to deal with XML messages. |

Hi Both(jefflowrey/bower5932),
Could you point to some resource which can be used for a clear understanding of both MQ series Integrator and the workflow product. I will gorge on that and rethink the complete case at hand.
Till then thanks to both for your time.
