Been poking and looking in boards and doc's but really can't get an answer maybe someone can -
1. When I create this new QM do I create it like I have for Guardian apps and the JAVA stuff finds what it needs in the Guardian environment?
OR
2. Do I create the qmanager from the OSS side of the system.
I have the JAVA - OSS and MA88 installed and configured according to the docs I can find. If anyone has been down this street any suggestions.
S-Series - G06.21 - MQ for NSK 5.1 - Current Java - OSS - and MA88
TIA... |

Hank, not quite sure what your question is. But here are a few pointers.
-It doesnt matter where you create your qm from, either guardian or OSS.
-In both cases, how mq finds the qm is the environment variables. mqdefaultprefix is mandatory, mqmachinifile is optional but only if your mqsini file is not in the detault location which is $<your volume>.<value of mqdefaultprfix>.mqsini.
3) As for java stuff. The readme gives you details as to how you can install, configure and use it. You need to bind and create a new jvm using NSJXX(whatever version you are using). And of course bind it to the srl during this process.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Do I also need the inetd.conf configured.
The Java stuff has all been relinked after the MA88 install as well as binding it to srl.
The need for INETD.CONF comes for the security groups encryption they will have a JAVA secure enevlope'y' that will sit between a sun server and the guardian app on the series box.
This enevelope will be java scripts (procs - jars) or something that will monitor the a inbound queue - pull it off authenticate it then put the payload into another queue that the guardian app will mqget start processing the activity and send back the required response back throught the envelope thingy back to a sun server!
Does this make some kinda sense?
If MQ 5.3 was available I would not have this issue of the envelope. Just the 5.3 SSL encryption.
Thanks |

To be frank, hank, i dont know the answer for your question at this piont. But one thing that looks clear to me is, this is more of admin issue on how to configure stuff on OSS/Guardian rather than MQ. Guess your Tandem Admin should be able to help you with it. But otherwise, i am afraid i dont know how to get around this.
As for MQ. I havent come accross the need to touch inted.conf until now on OSS. May be becuase my setup never required me to do so.
Good luck.
Cheers
