Does workflow allow one to assign an activity to a role? Say I have program activity A which is assigned to a role 1 with users mike and george.

Is it possible to do something like that? If so, when the work item gets created, do both mike and george get the work item?

any help is appreciated..thnx

Yes, u are right.

You can assign an activity to the role and workitems will be generated to all the users in the role.

If you have too many users in a role, it is a good idea to consider a "virtual user" approach instead of using roles
