All,
They other day looking through the event logs on NT I came across this error.
Update not received for queue QL.APP1, queue manager ZQM1 from full repository for cluster CLUST1.
The repository manager detected a queue that has been used in the last 30 days for which updated information should have been sent from a full repository. However, this has not occurred. &P The repository manager will keep the information about this queue for a further 60 days.
If the queue is still required, check that: &N 1) The cluster channels to and from the full repository and the queue manager that hosts the queue, are able to run. &N 2) The repository managers running on these queue managers have not ended abnormally.
Maybe I'm not reading this right but it was my understanding that if a ClusterQ hasn't been used in 30 days then a message is issued saying that if the queue isn't used in 60 days then the partial repo will remove it from his repository.
When reading this message it says that the queue has been used within 30 days, but and update wasn't receieved from a full repository.
This message appeared on a partial repository queue manager. The cluster channels are running and ZQM1 is a full repository.
Is my full repos not publishing queue information or am I reading this all wrong.
Backgroud:
ZQM1 <along with another z/OS QMGR> are both full repositories with MQ 5.3
All the other queue managers <including this one> are running in W2K are are parital repos with MQ 5.3 |

Hello offshore,
Although you haven't included the error number with your problem description, I suspect it's AMQ9456 on NT (X456 for z/OS)
The problem is that the partial repository hasn't remade its subscriptions to the full repository and thus the full repository hasn't published updates to the partial. The normal behaviour would be to remake the subscription every 27 days. Also note that it is not the queue itself that is deleted, but the definition of the queue held by the local repository manager.
In order to resolve this, 1 of 2 things can be done ...
Issue refresh cluster every 30 days
. Apply a fix for the problem, then issue refresh cluster just the once to get the latest and greatest from the full repository. Subscriptions will automatically take place after the refresh. Unfortunately, you would have to go through support channels to obtain a fix though, or apply CSD08 when it ships.
Hope this helps you out !! |

andye,
Offshore said he had 5.3, and you mentioned CSD08. Are you saying CSD06 which just came out doesn't have it (the fix), CSD07 won't, and you guys are already planning CSD08? _________________ Peter Potkay

Peter
The fix was made not long ago and definitely after CSD06 had been tested and made available. The target for the APAR is CSD08 as the cut off date for fixes going into CSD07 has passed and testing is under way. Planning for testing any fixes that will be included in a CSD, is given much consideration and time.
This may seem like a slow process, but we want to do our best to produce maintenance that is well tested. |
